Daniel Willey is the Compliance Officer for the Investment Management Division (IMD) of the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund (UNJSPF) located in New York City.
The responsibilities of the Compliance Section consist of supporting IMD senior management in administering effectively the compliance risks faced by the Fund: advising on compliance rules and standards, establishing written guidance to IMD staff on the appropriate implementation of compliance rules and standards through policies and procedures, educating staff on compliance issues, including planning for training on code of ethics and other related matters, and acting as a contact point for compliance queries from IMD staff and external parties.
Prior to joining the UNJSPF in October 2009, Daniel was Senior Vice President, Chief Operating and Compliance Officer overseeing the administration, finance, operations and compliance of Barrett Associates, Inc. a wholly owned, independently operated subsidiary of Legg Mason, Inc. a global asset management firm.
Daniel was previously associated with TIMCO Asset Management Company (formerly the Travelers Investment Management Company, a registered investment advisor with Citigroup Asset Management) where he served as President and Chief Executive Officer. TIMCO employed a disciplined, quantitative approach to common stock management designed to provide core, value-added exposure to the large, mid and small capitalization segments of the U.S. equity market.
Prior to assuming the roles of President and CEO, Dan was Head Trader with portfolio management and client responsibilities at TIMCO for nine years. Previous to joining TIMCO Dan held senior positions at Shawmut National Bank, State of Connecticut – Office of the Treasurer and Bank of New England.
Daniel is a graduate of St. Mary’s Seminary and University in Baltimore, Maryland where he earned a B.A. in Humanities.
